Sandee Johnson has been somewhat of a intellectual nomad most of her life. She got her MS at Florida State University before doing post graduate work at McGill University in Canada and Universidad de las Americas in Mexico. She has lived in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, South America, Mexico, Canada and numerous American locations. For the past 40 years Sandee has worked as an artist, free-lance photographer and writer. A master of multiple mediums, she has exhibited widely and can be found in public and private collections around the globe.

I've done photography since I was a child. I started with film cameras, moved to digital, then studied black and white film. I was teacher's assistant in high school and tutored the class with Photoshop. I've spent hours in dark rooms, I even had my own for a short period of time as a teen.

I first hoped to go to school for Graphic Design but decided I wanted to use art to transform community. I focused on Art Therapy while cultivating design skills in free time.

I graduated from Evergreen state College with a BA in Arts Emphasized in psychology. I used photography as a tool for artistic expression while learning about consciousness, mental health, and trauma.

I've designed logos for local businesses. I've made stylistic pamphlets, wedding invitations, album art. I've photographed musicians, dancers, families, real estate. I've organized performances and film productions. Its a fun journey and one of my favorite hobbies!
